Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions? We have answers. Check below for some of the most common questions about treatment, insurance coverage and how to prepare for your appointment.

01. How do I know which treatment to choose?

Check our services page for more information on each type of treatment and the conditions they can help with! If you are still unsure, connect with us through our online form and we can get you moving in the right direction!

02. Do I need a referral to be seen by The Healing Theory?

No referral is necessary! Our practitioners are happy to help whomever walks through our door. 

NOTE: Some insurance companies do require a prescription from your family doctor for physiotherapy, massage, etc. in order to cover the service. Be sure to check your insurance plan prior to your visit.

03. Do you do walk-ins or appointment only?

Walk-ins are always welcome! However, if you need a specific date and time, making an appointment ahead of time is always a good option. 

NOTE: If there is availability, you CAN make an appointment for the SAME DAY!

04. Where can I park for my appointment?

Green P parking is available on Danforth Avenue in front of our clinic, free 1-hour parking is available on the street directly behind/north of the clinic on Coleman Avenue, and there is parking at the Canadian Tire on the south side of the street!

05. What is included in an initial visit?

An initial visit includes a thorough history-taking, to gather as much information about your concerns as possible, an in-depth physical assessment for physical problems, creation and review of your individualized program of care and an initial treatment

06. What is included in a subsequent visit?

Subsequent treatments are shorter than initial assessments because they focus primarily on recent updates to your condition, thorough treatment, and review of recommendations for home.

07. Does my insurance cover my treatment?

Probably- most insurance companies have some, if not full, coverage for our services. Each plan is different and you should check with your provider prior to your appointment. 

08. Do you do direct billing to insurance?

Yes we do! If your insurance provider allows for direct billing, we will provide it! If your insurance provider does not allow for direct billing, payment for treatment will be at the end of each session and a receipt will be provided so that patients can submit the claims individually.

09. What payment types do you accept?

We accept debit and credit! In an effort to go paperless, support the environment, and improve sanitary measures within the clinic, we do not accept cash.

10. What is your cancellation policy?

Out of consideration for our practitioners' time, we ask that all cancellations be made at a minimum of 24 hours prior to the appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours will follow a 3-strike policy: 

1st cancellation = Freebie (sometimes things happen outside of our control)

2nd cancellation = Patient is charged 25% of appointment

3rd cancellation = Patient is charged 50% of appointment

All cancellations after that, the patient will be charged FULL PRICE of cancelled appointment.

11. What do I need to do to prepare for my appointment?

if you are seeing one of our chiropractors or physiotherapists, wear comfy, loose or stretchy clothing that allows for full range of motion. Otherwise, bring your questions and whatever medical imaging or tests you want to discuss or think may be relevant to your concern. Leave the rest to us!
