How long do custom orthotics last?

With normal use, custom orthotics typically last 2 to 5 years depending on activity level, body weight, and the type of footwear they're used in. Athletic orthotics used for high-impact activity may require replacement sooner. Most extended health benefit plans cover replacement orthotics on a set schedule - commonly every 1 to 2 years - so it's worth checking your plan details.

Are custom orthotics covered by insurance?
